Target Audience:
Anyone who owns any of the Monogram Wizard products set (MW, MW+, Extended Features, etc.).
Prerequisite:
There is no absolute prerequisite for this class. However, the Taming of the Stitch and Basic Monogram Wizard Plus classes are strongly recommended prior to attending to get the most from this class.

Course Description:
This class covers the Monogram Wizard from elementary usage through advanced designing principles of the Extended Features. The class starts with the all the basic functions and describes the purpose and the usage of each action. Continuing the Layering features and how best to get the most out of a single instance of the Monogram Wizard Plus. The class will then move on the Extended Features and how to most effectively use this power to improve your designs. The last segments are outlines special considerations that should be given to your designs from the standpoint of embroidery and from a graphic design standpoint. Also attendees should bring a laptop if they have one. Practical exercises will be a part of this class.

Course Description:
This class presents the overall functionality of the MW+. Each one of the buttons and parameters are explained. The use of the Alphabets and Motifs are presented in detail. Control characters are explained and their usage clarified. The layer tabs are explained and their usage clarified. Color sequencing, design movement and letter placement are explained in detail. Attendees should have a printout of all the Alphabets, Motifs and a hard copy of the MW+ User’s Guide. Also attendees should bring a laptop if they have one. Course Description:
This class presents basic design principles. Letters and motif combinations, combinations of different alphabets in one design, using the basic letter shapes to complement the joining of letters are used to demonstrate how to make a striking design with letters. Monograms are more than just three letters. Names can be more than just a several letters in a row. How to make verses with the MW+ will be covered in this class. Attendees should have a printout of all the Alphabets, Motifs and a hard copy of the MW+ User’s Guide. Also attendees should bring a laptop if they have one. However, if they do not have a laptop there may be some available for use. Practical exercises will be a part of this class.
Extended Features Class   Class Schedule

Target Audience:
Monogram Wizard Plus users who own Extended Features or looking to buy Extended Features.

Course Description:
This class presents the usage of the extended features of the MW+. These features add functionality but with that come some more responsibility for your actions. This class will cover in detail all functions beginning with importing external designs through color sorting. It is strongly recommended that the attendees have a thorough understanding of the basic MW+ functions and also have taken the Designing with the Monogram Wizard class. Attendees should have a printout of all the Alphabets, Motifs and a hard copy of the MW+ User’s Guide. Also attendees should bring a laptop if they have one. However, if they do not have a laptop there may be some available for use. Practical exercises will be a part of this class.
Taming of the Stitch   Class Schedule

Course Description:
Having the knowledge of how things interact will give you the power to predict results. This is exactly what the “Taming of the Stitch” will give you. The class is segmented into four the four components of embroidery: fabric, sewing/embroidery machine, needle and thread. The class begins with an explanation of the various fabrics you would encounter doing embroidery. You will see how the different fabrics are constructed and as such you will see the impact embroidery has on each of these types of fabrics and how the use of various backings will increase the appearance of the final product. Continuing from fabrics you will receive an explanation of how your sewing/embroidery machine makes a stitch and exactly how these stitches interact with the fabrics. The next component is the needle. This section explains the various needles available and their specific uses. The final section covers various thread types available and to best use these thread types. This class is the foundation for all other classes that will be offered. Students will receive text with practical exercises and magnifying loupes with this class.

This class outlines a specific methodology for problem solving and correcting problems you encounter during the embroidery process. In addition to outlining the problem Solving Methodology you will be given practical cases to exercise the process and arrive at solutions. Several practical embroidery problems will analyze during this class so The Taming of the Stitch should be considered a prerequisite for this class.

Those who do embroidery and use embroidery files. Very basic computer knowledge and skills are required for this class.

PES, DST, EXP, HUS, SHV, VIP, ART, XXX and the list goes on and on. What exactly are these files and will my embroidery machine work better with one type of file as opposed to another? What can I do with these files? Can I change them? Make them smaller or smaller? These are just the start of the questions that will be answered in this class. The mysteries surrounding embroidery files will be revealed and you will have a better understanding of the meaning of embroidery files.

These classes will begin with the very basic graphic program Paint. The various graphic file formats will be explained so that you will understand the difference between the content. Basic drawing tools will be explained and accompanied with scanners and their associated software. After the student has mastered the terminology and basic graphic manipulation subsequent classes will move into more advanced graphics programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc.

You have completed your design now is the time testing, analysis and revisions. As you watch it sew you will see the execution of each of the steps above. You will review your design for quality noting any changes required. Now you will make the necessary changes and sew it again.

You will be presented enough information to make an informed decision as to the level that you wish to jump into the business aspect of your hobby. Continuing the class will explore the various profiles of the embroidery business models that are around today. Discussed in this seminar will be the markets each model serves, the pricing structure used for each model, and the level of business management required for each model. Revenue streams, personnel requirements and equipment requirements will also be covered in this seminar. The seminar facilitator will present these topics based on 20 years of exposure to the various business models of the embroidery industry.
